Installation Software Release Notice for 5.0rev1

ArchMgr, processd, and the Control Panel itself. (ArchMgr should be shut
down using the Control Panel's Control menu.)
Installing CS2
The following steps are required to manually install the CS2 software.
1. Change directory to < full path of the vtape_CS2 directory > (i.e {CD-ROM
Drive directory}/ cs2/ {platform}/ vtape_CS2) to verify the path.
2. Change directory to the <SPECTRUM Home> directory.
3. Extract the contents of the release file labeled vtape.0 by typing:
tar xvf <full path of the vtape_CS2 directory>/vtape.0
4. Bring up the Install GUI by typing: ./Install.
5. In the Installation Configuration window, enter the full path of the
vtape_CS2 directory in the Source Directory field.
NOTE
On Windows NT, extraction of the files LocServer.exe and gzip.exe from
the CS2 vtape will fail. This is a result of a problem with NT permissions. To
ensure successful extraction of these files, proceed as follows:
1. Using Microsoft Explorer, navigate to the LS directory and rename the file
LocServer.exe as LocServer_orig.exe .
2. Also using Microsoft Explorer, navigate to the Install-Tools directory
and rename the file gzip.exe as gzip_orig.exe .
NOTES
1. Refer to the SPECTRUM Installation Guide for instructions on
installing from a local or remote CD-ROM Drive.
2. For Windows NT, use the SpectroSHELL by selecting it from the
SPECTRUM Programs folder.
NOTE
If the custom installation mode was used to install the 5.0rev1 release, then it
is necessary to install CS2 in the custom installation mode. All user responses
to custom script queries should match those given during the 5.0rev1
installation.
