CS3 Known Anomalies
CS3 Known Anomalies
The following SPECTRUM 5.0rev1 anomalies are associated with this
release of CS3/MMS3.
1. SNMP agents on certain devices will report back inconsistent
chassis configuration information, causing pipes to disappear
between board models in the Topology view. This will occur when
the SNMP agent reports a configuration omitting one or two
boards on one read and then includes the boards on the next read.
The chassis configuration intelligence will remove the board
models on the first read and then put them back (or create new
models) on the next. If a new board model is created, new port
models will also be created and any connections to the previous
port models will be lost. This will be addressed in a future release
of SPECTRUM.
2. Memory usage and CPU utilization grow while selecting device
configurations within Enterprise Configuration Manager. This will
be addressed in a future release of SPECTRUM.
3. SPECTRUM 5.0rev1 improperly handles the situation when a
device returns a different number of values to fill the various
columns of a table. When this happens, all but the table column
with the largest returned value disappears from the view. This will
be addressed in a future release.
4. SpectroSERVER stops sending out SNMP and ICMP requests
and, therefore, alarms are either not generated or not cleared
when they should be. This is caused by a relation loop in the
database. This problem was addressed in Spectrum_5.0rev1.D35
against CS2/MMS2 and will be addressed in a future release of
SPECTRUM.
5. The Internal Port Link Status (IPLS) attribute does not have an
enumeration for the DORMANT state. On a device where the
interface is DORMANT, the IPLS will carry a state of GOOD.
When a port transitions from UP to DORMANT, the IPLS of the
port model does not change, and vice versa. No evidence of the
translation is reflected. This problem has been addressed in
Spectrum_5.0rev1.D38 against CS2/MMS2 and will be addressed
in a future release of SPECTRUM.
