Installing MMS3

This section describes how to start the MMS3 installation on the

Solaris and Windows NT systems. These instructions are intended for

users who are familiar with SPECTRUM installation.

Management module installation from the CS3/MMS3 CD proceeds in

the same manner as the installation from a SPECTRUM distribution

CD. If you are unfamiliar with this process, we recommend that you

refer to the SPECTRUM Installation Guide to get complete

installation information. This guide is available on Cabletron’s Web

site at the following location:

The MMS3 installation process ensures the installation of

management modules currently installed in your SPECTRUM 5.0rev1

database plus any additional management modules that you have

purchased. (See Management Modules Included in MMS3, starting on

Page 4-18 for a list of the management modules included in MMS3.)

Starting the MMS3 Install on Solaris Systems

1. Use the cd command to navigate to the <SPECTRUM Home>

directory.

2. Perform one of the following steps as root:

a. If you are using a default mount point, enter:

/cdrom/cdrom0/mms3/install.cd

b. If you are not using a default mount point, enter:

/cdrom/mms3/install.cd
