5-103
Patches Issued Since the CS2/MMS2 Release
WatchEditor was shut down then restarted that the truncating
problem occurred.
The resolution was to increase the formula size limit to 2K for the
saved format of the expression. This allows for larger expressions to
be saved without incident. If an expression still exceed the formula
limit in its saved format (vs. original format) then a error dialog box
will appear suggesting that the watch be broken up into two or more
smaller watches.

The problem was SpectroSERVER and WatchEditor were crashing
when editing a watch. If a SpectroWatch was successfully created and
then modified with an incorrect attribute (i.e. one that is not
associated with the device) - the SpectroSERVER and WatchEditor
core dumped when an attempt was made to save the watch.
The resolution was to add a null pointer check to the call associated
with the attribute save. This prevents the core dump of the
SpectroSERVER and WatchEditor when an incorrect attribute is
saved to a previously existing watch.

The problem was that the SpectroSERVER was crashing every three
to four days with the following error: "? mts.malloc: out of memory
(32768 bytes requested)" The SpectroSERVER had been up and
running without terminating for about six months until applying
several patches at the same time (these were: P24, P26, P27, P29, P30,
P33, P37, P41). The SpectroSERVER ran for three to four days and
then terminated with the mts.malloc error. No core file was
generated. The performance on the SpectroSERVER was good with no
latencies at all.
The resolution was to identify the memory leaks in the code with
purify and then to fix them.

The problem was SPECTRUM was returning a YELLOW alarm for a
Synoptics 5000 Hub with every DCE installed, but only one that was
configured. This alarm was not clearable. The customer felt that this
alarm was extraneous since the device was purposefully configured
that way. The only way to clear the alarm was through CLI.
