an off-page reference icon of the router in the switch's devtop. Each
time the customer drew a pipe, he did a tcpdump between the VNM
and the switch to which he is drawing a pipe. Each of the tcpdumps
shows that the VNM only queries the dot1dTpFdbTable for MAC
address X, and ignores Y and Z.
The resolution was to change code so that now SPECTRUM will
search all interface MAC addresses if it cannot find a match using the
value found in the router model's MAC_Address attribute. Device
Discovery is now able to discern on which port the router and switch
have a true connection.

The problem was that during AutoDiscovery of the AS5x00 model
Dialup_Link models were automatically created and placed on each of
the PPP ports. The Dialup_Link models are for managing dial-up
lines used to backup a primary interface and the Cisco Access Server
is a dial-in server. Although the ports can be configured to be backup,
their primary use is for users to remotely connect to the network.
Each time a dial-up user connected or disconnected from the modem a
brown alarm would get generated. In some cases, the amounts of this
type of alarm would cause the AlarmView to hang.
The resolution was to eliminate the automatic creation of Dialup
Links when an ASx500 is modeled by AutoDiscovery or by IP.

The problem was the Configuration View and the IF Config Table of a
Rtr_Cisco 7000 did not properly display the column for Local
Description or any information pertaining to that attribute. The
header would come up briefly but went away once the other table
information was loaded. This was due to the fact that the device was
not returning values for all instances for certain attributes.
The resolution was to remove the attributes from the Configuration
View. The Local Description attribute, as well as: Change Reason,
Queue Length, and Packet Size, now all exist in the Interface
Configuration Information Table. This table can be accessed by
double clicking a value in the Interface Configuration Table which is
part of the Configuration View.
