Pre-Installation Instructions
Perform the steps described below before invoking the CS3 Install
program.
1. If you are going to run SPECTRUM 5.0rev1 on the Solaris 2.7
operating system, ensure that the appropriate SunOS patches
(Table 2-1 on page 4) are installed on your system. Note that the
Table lists the minimum revision level for the patches. These
patches are not included in the CS3/MMS3 CD. The specific
patches to be applied depend upon your system configuration. For
example, 106144-08, the Elite3D AFB Graphics Patch, only
applies if your system contains an Elite3D graphics card.
NOTE
CS3 must be installed in its entirety (prior to installing the MMS3
software) on all systems containing a SpectroSERVER or
SpectroGRAPH. It is not necessary for CS2, MMS2, or any of the
patches listed in Chapter 5, Software Superseded by CS3/MMS3 , to
have been installed on your SPECTRUM 5.0rev1 system prior to
installing CS3.

WARNING
If the integrated version of VLAN Manager has been installed in
your SPECTRUM system before CS3 is installed, it must be the
latest version of VLAN Manager SecureFast 1.9.1 or else CS3 will fail
to link the SpectroSERVER. The following error message will appear
in the file install_log.xx.xx:

If you get this message, update VLAN Manager with the latest
version (1.9.1) and then re-install CS3. Please see Technical Bulletin
TB00771-9.
