Patches Issued Since the CS2/MMS2 Release
Software Superseded by CS3/MMS3 Software Release Notice for 5.0rev1
5-40 CS3 and MMS3
Spectrum_5.0rev1.P46 against CS1/MMS1. There is no problem with
printing to a printer that does not support color printing.
The resolution was to write a script which installs gs5.50 (an
executable called ghostscript). It takes the GRF filename, device type,
gs5.50 install location as settable parameters and generates the
appropriate print files using ghostscript. This file can be printed using
ntprint or a third party public domain software called PrintFile which
lets you select the printer through the user interface. The print files
generated using this script work on the HP 670C color deskjet printer
among others.
**Note: This resolution is supported for the Windows_NT platform
only.
**Note: Please follow these instructions after creating reports,
<reportname>.TAB and <reportname>.GRF to invoke the fixes
included in the resolution:
1. "cd $SPECROOT/bin" check for the existence of gs5.50 directory
2. "cd $SPECROOT/SG"
3. edit the file PrintGRF.bat and set DeviceType type.
a. scroll down to the line "set DeviceType=djet500"
b. replace "djet500" with the device/printer you
prefer.
4. "PrintGRF <reportname>.GRF". This command should be executed
from a SpectroSHELL window and should show a print dialog which
lets the user select the appropriate printer.
