Telnet Resource Problems
Verify Internet Host Name
If you are unable to connect to a Telnet resource using an Internet host name, enter the
following command:
Local> SHOW INTERNET HOST ALL
Internet Address Name
195.1.1.60 SALES.MKTG.FOO.COM
195.1.1.62 ACCT.MKTG.FOO.COM
Verify that the Internet host name is defined in the Internet database. For more information
on configuring the Internet host name, refer to the Network Access Software Management
Guide.
Verify Domain Name System (DNS) Parameters
If you are unable to connect to a Telnet resource using an Internet host name, enter the
following command:
Local> SHOW INTERNET NAME RESOLUTION CHARACTERISTICS
Domain Name: MKTG.FOO.COM
Resolution Host Limit: 32 Resolution Time Limit: 4
Resolution Mode: Ordered Resolution Retry Limit: 3
Nameservers: (Locally configured)
195.1.1.81 Local NAMED.MKTG.FOO.COM

Verify that the DNS parameters are set up correctly. For more information on configuring
the access server on a TCP/IP network, refer to the Network Access Software Management
Guide.
Verify Communication to Remote Internet Host
If you are unable to connect to a Telnet resource, determine if the access server can
communicate with the Internet host. Enter the following command. Substitute the Internet
address (or host name) for 195.1.1.60:
Local> PING 195.1.1.60
