informing you that the pipe was not destroyed because nothing was
selected.
Problem 3: When you telnet to a device that does not support incoming
telnet sessions, an error message appears briefly. This message appears so
quickly that a user will not notice it, especially on a Solaris workstation.
Solution: Change the default browser to one that supports better user
interaction.
To change the default telnet application in Netscape:
1 On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
2 Click the Navigator category, and then click Applications.
3 Click the URL: Telnet Protocol Application.
4 Click the New Type button and browse for the telnet application you
want to use.
To change the default telnet application in IE:
1 Open Windows Explorer.
1 On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
2 In the Folder Options dialog box, click the File Types tab.
3 In the list of registered file types, click URL: Telnet Protocol, and
then click the Advanced button.
4 In the Edit File Type dialog box, click the New button and browse for
the telnet application you want to use.
