SPECTRUM Installation Program
Known Installation Anomalies in SPECTRUM 6.5
SPECTRUM Software Release Notice Page 59
Problem 7: On the Solaris 2.7 platform, when you upgrade in place from
SPECTRUM 5.0rev1with CS4 MMS4 to SPECTRUM 6.0 and the DDM
database fails to install, when you move the DDM directory to DDM_old,
click the Cancel button and continue the installation, the installation will
segmentation fault.
Solution: Aprisma is investigating the root causes of this problem.
Problem 8: On both the Windows NT and 2000 platforms, when you
migrate from SPECTRUM 6.0.x directly to 6.5.0, or perform an installation
of SPECTRUM 6.5.0 on a machine with no SPECTRUM files, you may
receive messages that the installation has failed such as:
Error during Link of SpectroGRAPH.exe
Installation Failed to link SpectroSERVER.exe
and so forth. Under this scenario the executable files are built, but no
errors are posted anywhere.
Solution: Even though the messages indicate the executable failed to
build, you may safely ignore these messages. Aprisma is examining this
problem which will be addressed in a future release of SPECTRUM.
Problem 9: When you install SPECTRUM on either a Windows NT or 2000
workstation with a username containing a space (for example, “NT
SPECTRUM”) the installation appears to have run successfully except at
the very end when you receive the following message similar to:
sed: Unterminated ‘s’ command
You could possibly receive this message several times.
Solution: Avoid spaces in SPECTRUM usernames.
