Control Panel
The SPECTRUM Control Panel is a convenient “point and click” interface that provides
facilities that let you configure SPECTRUM resources, start and stop SpectroSERVER,
start SpectroGRAPH, perform database administration and maintain your SPECTRUM
installation.
Known Control Panel Anomalies in
SPECTRUM 6.5
Problem 1: When processd is shutdown, the Control Panel dialog boxes
have no title causing you not to know where these errors originated from
or what the errors are unless you click them.
Solution: This problem will be corrected in the next release of
SPECTRUM.
Problem 2: When you telnet to a Solaris workstation from a Windows
workstation with Exceed installed, navigate to the <$SPECROOT>/bin
directory and try to launch the Control Panel, you receive messages similar
to the following :
WARNING premature end of X11 from name in -sni-pct-medium-
ot-normal--13-130-75-c-60-ibm437
WARNING premature end of X11 from name in -sni-pct-medium-
ot-normal--16-160-75-c-80-ibm437
WARNING premature end of X11 from name in -sni-pct-medium-
ot-normal--24-75-75-c-120-ibm437
This is a font name problem with Exceed and not with SPECTRUM.
Solution: You may safely ignore these messages. The Control Panel will
start normally.
