Remedy AR System Gateway Improvement
A new “bi-directional” capability has been incorporated in the Remedy
gateway. When a trouble ticket is submitted to Remedy either from the
gateway or manually, the ID that Remedy assigns the trouble ticket will
be populated into the trouble ticket ID attribute within SPECTRUM.
In addition, when a trouble ticket that originated from a SPECTRUM
alarm is closed within Remedy, the alarm is cleared within SPECTRUM (if
that alarm is clearable, or if it has not already been cleared).
Device Maintenance Mode
Maintenance Mode refers to the ability to temporarily suspend
management of a particular device or set of devices in SPECTRUM. This
suspension enables you to avoid SNMP polling and generating alarms and
events when a device is down for scheduled maintenance.
Ping and Telnet from SpectroSERVER
Ping and telnet invocations can now be routed through SpectroSERVER
as well as directly from the SpectroGRAPH host. This solution enables
ping and telnet to work when the only IP address allowed through your
firewall is SpectroSERVER’s IP address. Firewall configuration is
simplified when all ping and telnet requests from SPECTRUM
applications are routed through the SpectroSERVER host.
Remote Display Now Supported
SPECTRUM now supports remote display of SpectroGRAPH using the
version of Exceed’s X-Server that is included with SPECTRUM software.
X-Windows will be utilized to display SPECTRUM applications from one
workstation to another workstation. The following display variations are
supported: Solaris to Solaris; Solaris to NT, and NT to NT.
