New Features in
SPECTRUM 6.5
This section lists new features and functionality in SPECTRUM 6.5.
Fault Isolation Improvement
The new Impact Scope view and Impact Severity rating on alarms
reveal a way to view the impact a fault has on a network.
When a red “DEVICE HAS STOPPED RESPONDING TO POLLS” alarm is
generated, the Device_Criticality of the red model and all the gray models
in the fault domain are summed to produce the Impact Severity of the
alarm. The impact severity of each red “Contact Lost” alarm is now
displayed in the main Alarm Manager window.
The red alarm with the highest impact severity represents the problem
that should be given highest priority.
To find out which managed devices have been impacted by a red “Contact
Lost” alarm, the user can launch the Impact Scope view. This view shows
a list of all the gray models in the fault domain. The user may sort these
models by Device_Criticality to see the most important devices at the top
of the list.
