Problem 12: When backing up your database or when performing a
migration from SPECTRUM 4.x to 6.0, the Event database converts fine,
but the Stats database fails with error messages such as:
Cabletron Systems, Inc. -- ddm_load (c) 1993-1998.
Restoring Stat Name info
Restoring Stat Attribute and Time Data
You may be unable to see Stats beyond the 6.0 installation.
Solution: If you copy the Events and Stats to a separate disk in which
you will be saving, loading or manipulating the data in any way, be certain
to copy the .configrc over as well because the landscape handle will not
migrate. This problem will be corrected in a future release of SPECTRUM.
Problem 13: On the Windows NT platform, during the installation of
eXceed, the Security icon defaults to “Disabled” (any host access).
Hummingbird Software ships eXceed with the host controls disabled.
Solution: The security default for eXceed during installation will be
changed to “Enabled” in the next major release of SPECTRUM.
On the Windows NT platform you receive an error message during the
installation of the Model Type Editor. The message is:
Installing resource file SG-Tools/appdef/mte
install_engine:redirection error:Bad file number
Solution: This is a benign message with no apparent effect on the
installation. This problem will be corrected in a future release of
SPECTRUM.
Problem 14: On the Windows NT platform, you receive an error message
when trying to install the resource file SSM in the SG-Tools/appdef
directory. The error message says:
Installing resource file SG-Tools/appdef/SSM
COPY FOR DUP FAILED, handle in 0.6!!
install_engine: redirection error: Bad file number
