4.9 Design Control / Revision Rules
When an issue is made that succeeds a previous issue, CableMatic compares the previous issue
with the current issue. Only the fields that are indicated in this data will be compared. If the data is
different or the component is new, the component will acquire the revision of the current open
revision. In addition, CableMatic records what fields changed for each component. These
recordings provide “user friendly option” to highlight changed data on the construction reports.
Although Work package and Start-Up System appear on Cable and Conduit reports, these
attributes should not be used to effect a revision change. The reason for this is that the field is
responsible for this data and changes made by design will not override the field’s data.
