For the discriminating scanner user who needs the best possible weak-signal amplification without amplify-
ing the noise as well, this tiny (1” square) preamp is the answer!
The LN4000 offers 20 dB (typical) signal amplification from 100-4000 MHz (-3 dB), at
a low noise figure of only 4.5 dB. It is powered by any convenient 5 to 12 VDC, 30 mA
(typical), center pin positive, power supply (available as an accessory).
Includes 10” coaxial receiver/scanner interconnect cable with SMA connectors and
BNC adaptors. A 10’ power supply cable with DC connector is also provided for remote
mounting.
NOTE: Antenna preamplifiers increase the strength of strong signals as well as weak. If you
experience strong-signal overload, a filter for the offending frequencies is recommended.

The ABF128 is a receive (only) bandpass filter especially designed to improve strong signal handling characteristics
of receivers for VHF commercial Airband listening. The AFB128 is suitable not only for AOR receivers, but also for
most airband and wideband receivers on the market. The addition of ABF128 will provide additional selectivity,
and allow the receiver’s circuitry to cope much more easily with strong interfering signals such
as Band-2 Stereo or Shortwave broadcast transmissions.
Timewave DSP-599zx Noise & QRM Filter
Featuring a bright LCD display, new high-speed CPU and
DSP processor, pushbutton function selection, and continuous
fine-tuning optical encoders, the DSP-599zx offers unparalleled
performance as well as field upgradability for future features.
For voice and music, a continuously-adjustable optical encoder
can be tuned up to 5000 Hz. Lo/Hi pass voice filters from 200-5000 Hz or CW/data filters from 10-600 Hz may
be selected as well. Filter skirts are razor-sharp without ringing.
The Data filters support RTTY, AMTOR, PACTOR, G-TOR, HF Packet, SSTV, WEFAX, SITOR, and Clover. For
transceiver use, the RTTY Remodulator mode detects and regenerates the mark and space tones going to your
Multi-Mode Controller (KAM, PK-232, MFJ-1278, Etc.), giving it the benets of a DSP front-end. The RTTY Modem
mode provides a complete RTTY Terminal Unit when used in conjunction with a PC and appropriate software.
Additional functions include a manual notch tone eliminator, two-tone audio sine-wave generator (20 Hz-10 kHz),
true rms (peak, dBV, and dBm) millivoltmeter (20 Hz-10 kHz, 1 mV sensitivity), and CTCSS (“PL”) tone encoder/
decoder with squelch-switched output to activate a tape recorder or other auxiliary device.
