3. Intended Use
Thisproductisprimarilyintendedforhomeandcommercialuse,aswellasforassociations.Theproductisinstalled
onatop-hatrailaccordingtoDINEN50022(carryingrail,DIN-RAIL).
Thevoltagesupplyisprovidedviaxedwiringtothemains(230V/AC,50Hz)withthecorrespondingprotection(see
technicaldata).Thecorrespondingmainsunitisalreadybuiltintotheproduct.Theinstallationmustonlybeperformed
byaspecialist.Generally,thedevicemustbepowereddownbeforechangingthewiring.
Theproducthasthreeexchangerelaysforthe230V-/400V-range.Differentphasescanbeswitched,butswitching
ofrotarycurrentencodersisnotintendedfor(therelaysarenotwarrantedtoswitchatthesametime).Therelays
mustbeprotectedfromoverloadbyanexternalprotectiondeviceaccordingtothespecicationfromthetechnical
data.Thereisonlyafunctionalseparationbetweentherelays.Therefore,mixedoperationofmainsvoltageandlow
protectivevoltageisnotpermitted.Mixedoperationofindustrial,commercialandhomeareasisnotpermittedeither.
Thereare3x230V-switchinginputstomonitorvoltagesupplyofsubdistributionsanddevices.Allthreevoltageinputs
share the same neutral conductor but are galvanically insulated against the voltage supply input.
Therearealsotwogalvanicallyinsulatedswitchinginputs(max.32V)formonitoringof,e.g.,aPLCvoltagesupply.
Only products that are either listed as accessories on the website for the product or that are indicated accordingly
intheproductoperatinginstructionsmustbeconnectedtotheoptionalRS485interfaceviaRJplug.Thetotalcable
length must not exceed 3 m and must not be placed along current-conducting lines.
AcommonSIMcardisrequiredtooperatetheproduct(notenclosed).

dlingoftheproduct.Youshouldalsoheedtheadditionalsafetyinstructionsineachchapteroftheseinstruc-
tions.
