The
CONNEX1
is a radio
tran
smit
t
er
and receiver. It is designed and
manufactured
not
t
o
exceed
the emission limits for exposure
to
radio frequency
(RF)
energy set by the
Fede
ral
Communications
Commission
of
the
U.S.
Government and by
t
h
e
International
Commission
on
Non-Ionizing
Radiation
P
r
ote
c
ti
on
(ICNIRP).
The device also meets the
E
u
rope
an
Radio
a
nd
Telecommunications
Terminal
Equipmen
t
(R&TTE)
directive, for
protecting
the health and
safety
of
t
h
e
user and other
persons.
These
limit
s
are
part
of comprehensive guidelines
that
establish
permitted
levels
of
RF
energy
for
the general
pop
ula
t
ion.
The guidelines are based on stan
d
ard
s
that were developed
by
independent
sc
ie
ntific
o
r
gan
i
zat
i
on
s
through
periodic and
thorough evaluation
of scient
ific
studies. The
s
t
and
ards
include a substantial safety margin designed to
assure
t
h
e
safety of
all
person
s
,
regardless of age and
h
ealth.
Before a device model is available for
s
a
le
to the public,
it
must be tested and
cer
t
ified
to
operate
within
the limits for safe exposure established by the
FCC
and
international
o
r
gan
i
zat
i
on
s.
The
tests are
per
f
ormed
in
pos
ition
s
and
locat
i
on
s
(e.g., next to the body)
as
required by the
FCC
fo
r
each model. The
FCC
ha
s
granted an
Equipme
n
t

uthoriza
t
ion
for this model device with
a
ll
reported
SAR
levels
(

ee
below) evaluated
as
in compliance with the
FCC RF
emission
guide
line
s.
This device meets
RF
exposure

body. In order to

connection

may be delayed
unt
il
such a connection becomes available. Be sure

e
recommended distance is observed
until the
transmission is

lete.
The exposure standard for wireless devices
emp
l
o
y
s
a
unit
of measurement known
as
the
Speci
f
i
c
Absorption
Rate, or
SAR. Tests
for
SAR
are conducted using
s
t
and
a
rd
operating po
sit
i
on
s
specified
by the
FCC
with
t
h
e
device
transmitting
at its highest
cer
t
if
ie
d
power level in all
t
este
d
freq
u
ency
bands. The
SAR
limit set by the
FCC
is 1.6 W/kg. The
international gui
de
li
ne
s
state that
t
h
e
SAR
limit
for mobile
devices
used by the public is 2.0 W/kg averaged over 10 grams of body tissue. SAR
value

may vary depending on
national reporting
requirements and the
network
band.
