Backing up and restoring Lingo
Lingo’s backup utility provides a way to
store the entire voice messaging system,
including all messages, greetings, and menu
keys. This is a complete backup, different
from the database archive. It takes as much
as two hours to complete at a 14,400-baud
rate and requires a support computer con-
nected to the Lingo unit. So you might do
complete backups less frequently.
It is recommended that you back up
the system completely after greetings are
recorded, menu keys are set up, and sub-
scribers are enrolled. Thereafter, perform
backups after making significant changes
to any of these parts of the system. Perform
database archives on a more regular basis to
save other custom settings, such as system
options.
