Back Overview No. Socket Remark • A B C D Do not use any AC adaptors other than the one included with this unit to avoid fire, electric shock, etc. DC IN Telescopic antenna 3.5mm AUX IN socket Connect the provided AC/DC power adaptor (12V) to this socket, and then connect the AC/DC adaptor plug to the AC wall outlet. • Be sure that only connect to an AC outlet that match the AC adaptor. • Extend the telescopic aerial to ensure best reception for DAB+ and FM modes.
Connecting the battery pack The R-5DAB uses a Nickel-Metal-Hydride battery pack stored in the battery compartment. 1. Loosen the two screws on the battery compartment cover. 2. Remove the cover. 3. Connect the battery pack connector. The battery pack’s connector is not connected to prevent discharge when you purchase the unit. Connect the battery pack before using the unit for the first time. Caution: Do not heat or disassemble rechargeable batteries.
DAB+ Mode How to Turn on? 1. Place the unit on a flat stable surface and extend the telescopic aerial to ensure best reception in both DAB+ and FM modes. Connect the power adaptor to the DC jack on the rear of the unit, and press STANDBY to switch it on. A message -- ‘Welcome to Digital Radio’ will be followed. 2. For initial use, it will automatically run a full scan and save all the detected stations into memory.
How to View Station Information? While playing a DAB+ program, press INFO repeatedly to display station information such as station signal strength, program type, multiple name, program frequency, signal error rate, time and date, etc How to Start Manual Tune? 1. Press MENU à rotate TUNING knob to select < Manual tune >. 2. Press TUNING knob to confirm, the display will show the channel number and frequency list. 3.

FM Mode How to Tune to FM Mode? 1. Press FUNCTION to switch from DAB+ Mode to ‘FM Mode’. How to Search Programs? 1. Once in FM mode, it will start at the beginning of the FM frequency range (87.50MHz). Otherwise, it will play the last FM station you were listening to. 2. Manual Scan Slowly rotate TUNING knob to change frequency by 0.05MHz per step. 3. Automatic Scan Press TUNING knob. How to Start Scan for available station? 1. By default, FM scans stop at any available station.
FM Menu Tree How to Set Station Presets (DAB+ and FM mode)? Your radio can store 10 DAB+ and 10 FM station presets. To store the current station: 1. Press and hold PRESETS button, until it shows: ‘Preset Store <1: (Empty)>’. 2. Rotate TUNING knob to cycle through preset stations 1-10. 3. Once you have located your favourite preset position, press TUNING knob, it will show: ‘Preset # stored’ followed by specified preset number shows up.
AUX IN Mode @ Note: This radio has an auxiliary input which can be used as an audio speaker system for external audio device such MP3 or CD player. 1. Connect an external audio device to the AUX IN socket using a 3.5mm audio stereo cable (not included). 2.
