Switching off the ignition
Turn the ignition key to posi-
tion 1.
After the ignition has been
switched off, the instrument
cluster remains switched on
for a short period of time
and indicates possibly present
fault memory entries.
Steering lock is not locked.
Electrically powered acces-
sories remain operational for
a limited period of time.
The battery can be recharged
using the socket in the cock-
pit.
The ignition key can now be
removed.

go out shortly after the igni-
tion has been switched off.

The indicator light for the
radio-operated key flashes
as long as the radio-operated
key is being searched for.
If the radio-operated key or the
spare key is detected, it goes
out.
If the radio-operated key or the
spare key is not detected, it
lights up briefly.
You are provided with one
radio-operated key and one
spare key. Refer to the notes
regarding the electronic immo-
bilizer (EWS) ( 61) should
you lose your keys.
The ignition, fuel filler cap and
anti-theft alarm system are ac-
tivated with the radio-oper-
ated key. The seat lock, stor-
age compartment, Topcase and
case can be operated manually.
When the range of the
radio-operated key is ex-
ceeded (e.g. in case or top-
case), the motorcycle cannot be
started and the central locking
system cannot be locked/un-
locked.
If the range is exceeded, the
ignition is switched off after
