58 OPERATION
IGNITION SWITCH/STEERING
LOCK
Ignition keys
You are provided with 2 igni-
tion keys.
Should you lose your radio-op-
erated keys, refer to the notes
regarding the electronic immo-
bilizer (EWS) ( 61).
The same key fits the following
locks:
Ignition switch/steering lock
Pannier lock
Stow compartment lock
Fuel filler cap
Seat lock

Topcase
Locking the steering lock
Turn handlebars to left.
Turn the ignition key to posi-
tion 1 while moving the han-
dlebars somewhat.
Ignition, lights and all function
circuits switched off.
Steering lock is locked.
The ignition key can now be
removed.
Switching on the ignition
Insert the ignition key into the
ignition steering lock. Turn
the key to position 1.
Parking lights and all function
circuits are switched on.
Pre-Ride-Check is carried out.

ABS self-diagnosis is per-

DTC self-diagnosis is per-
formed. ( 153)
Welcome light
Switch on the ignition.
The parking lights light up
briefly.
