Reserve fuel quantity

Press fuel filler cap of fuel
tank down firmly.
Fuel filler cap audibly
engages.
The fuel filler cap automati-
cally locks after the end of the
after-run period.
The engaged fuel cap locks
immediately when the steer-
ing lock is locked or the igni-
tion is switched on.
Open fuel filler cap
emergency release
with Keyless Ride

The fuel filler cap cannot be
opened.
Have the defect rectified as
quickly as possible by a spe-
cialist workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad re-
tailer.
Remove screws 1.
Remove emergency release 2.
Fuel filler cap unlocked.
Open fuel filler cap com-
pletely.
Refueling ( 162).
Close fuel filler cap emer-
gency release ( 164).

Fuel filler cap is closed.
Position the emergency re-
lease 2.
Install screws 1.

being scratched where ten-
sioning straps are routed, for
example, by using adhesive
tape or soft cloths.
