Burley d’Lite Owner’s Instruction and Safety Manual
VI. Using the Seat Harness
IMPORTANT: Only passengers who are able to wear a helmet and
sit upright, unassisted should ride in a child trailer. Adequate neck
strength is required to hold head upright while trailering. A phy si cian
should evaluate anyone who is of questionable developmental age
for trailering.
Junction of Y-buckle must be po si tioned at child’s ster num to work
correctly. Belts or buckles positioned near your child’s neck can cause
dis com fort or se ri ous injury. Check child pe ri od i cal ly to ensure that
he/she has not slipped from correct seated position.
Your children will ride comfortably and safely in your d’Lite with Burleys fi ve-
point restraint system. In addition to the safety and comfort afforded by Burley’s
restraint system, you also have the option of seating one or two passengers.
Single Passenger:
1. Unclip the center support strap (with O-ring).
2. Remove both shoulder harnesses from the
shoulder straps (see Section VII for details on
removing the shoulder harness). Unclip the
Y-buckle if necessary. Store one of the shoulder
harnesses in a safe place. Leave outboard shoul-
der straps dangling. Do not unthread the straps
from the ladder locks in this step.
3. Remove the two center shoulder straps by
unthreading them from the ladder locks.
4. Trade the position of the shoulder straps and
re-insert the straps into the ladder locks as shown
in the illustration at left. The fl at parts of the male
portion of the Y-buckle should face toward the
center.
5. Install one shoulder harness assembly in the
center position as shown at above left. See Sec-
Ladder Lock
