Detailed procedures
6. The stress test depends on the type of exercise equipment.
7. To measure the blood pressure in the resting phase, start the blood pressure meter or
enter a blood pressure value using the keyboard.
See Display elements on page 6-9.
8. After the blood pressure displays, start the exercise phase.
Start the exercise phase
To start the exercise phase:
1. Click Start Exercise or press F2.
The system changes to the exercise phase of the Stress Test. The system executes the
stress test protocol automatically.
• For a Treadmill—The treadmill is automatically accelerated until the speed of the
first stage is reached. Inform the patient about the start of the treadmill.
• For a Bicycle—The start load for the first stage is automatically set.
Note: To ensure all data is printed in the report, print the report only after the last
step in the ramped protocol is completed.
At the times specified in the protocol:
• The system saves ECG strips of 10 seconds.
• The system measures the blood pressure.
The system indicates the start of the automatic blood pressure measurement by the
rotating progress indication on the left of the BP field. As soon as an automatically
measured blood pressure value is taken, the measurement is indicated in the New
BP measurement dialog box and is saved automatically after 10 seconds.
