Apply the electrodes
Click Continue or press F2. to continue with the stress test.
Prepare the patient and apply the electrodes as described on Apply electrodes on page 3-14.
If filters are necessary, see ECG filters on page 3-17. In addition:
Apply the arm electrodes on the back position above the scapula and the limb
electrodes above the waist-line.
Fix the electrode cables with an adhesive tape immediately near the electrode.
If possible do not use EMG (muscle artifact) filter and Mains (AC line) filter.
Familiarize patient with the process before you start the Stress Test.
Safety instructions for the treadmill stress test
Start the treadmill walking belt on the lowest speed and grade settings. The patient stands
on the side of the deck or straddles the walking belt. While holding the handles, the
patient steps first with a foot onto the treadmill and then moves the other foot onto the
treadmill.

WARNING! Patient injury.
Never start the treadmill if the patient is already standing on the belt. There is acute danger
of falling and physical hazard.

Treadmill The start speed and the grade for the resting phase are
automatically set. The treadmill is stopped.
1. Show the patient how the treadmill works.
2. Start the treadmill and vary speed and grade for a short time.
3. Stop the treadmill again.
4. Explain the function of the emergency stop switch.
5. Show the patient how to mount the treadmill.
Bicycle The start load for the resting phase is automatically set.
1. Adjust the saddle height and the position of the handle bar.
2. Explain to the patient that he or she should pay attention to
the indication for the speed range.
3. Let patient pedal for a short time.
4. If necessary, increase or decrease the load to accustom the
patient to it.
