PRIOR TO INSTALLATION:

A- Screw the suction pipe to the pump.

B- Carefully rotate the valve and oat

assembly to position the float

beside the suction pipe as per the

photo on right. Never use the oat

and rod to rotate the valve. Use a

wrench on the at part of the valve.

Use the wrench only

on the U-shaped

part as indicated.

Do not use the nut.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: MONTHLY MANDATORY CHECK-UP: This fine pump that you have just purchased is designed from the latest in material and workmanship. Before installation and operation, we recommend the following procedures: 1. Inspect the pump and the sump for any obvious condition that necessitates cleaning, correction, adjustment or repair. (Applicable to your electrical primary pump) A heck with your local electrical and C plumbing codes to ensure you comply with the regulations.

APPLICATION:  This emergency back-up sump pump is designed to be connected to any existing conventional type of sump pump system, as an extra sump pump protection. STEP 2 Remove electrical power of your existing conventional primary sump pump and verify that this primary sump pump is equipped with a check valve at the pump discharge. If not, add a check valve before continuing your installation. The sump pump check valve should be located at the primary pump discharge and installed below the ‘‘Y’’ fitting. Check valve required as per step 2.

STEP 10 Y ou are now ready to test your CONTRACTOR SUMP BUDDY. Try the automatic control valve by lifting up the float. Water will go through the CONTRACTOR SUMP BUDDY. Push down the float to shut off water flow. STEP 11 F ill the sump pit with water. Verify the action of the automatic control valve and the level of water to start your CONTRACTOR SUMP BUDDY, then repeat the operation many times. STEP 12 T urn on electrical power of the conventionnal sump pump and verify the entire system.
