SECTION 2: TRANSMISSION RELEARN PROCESS
After completing the download process, it is recommended on a 6.6L Durmax with an automatic Al-
lison and a 6.0L Ford Power Stroke with an automatic Torque Shift transmission, that the transmis-
sion be relearned. Relearning the transmission can help the transmission adjust to the higher levels
of power oered by the PMT resulting in a better shifting transmission. Follow the vehicle specic
procedures below to relearn the following transmissions.
GM 6.6L DURAMAX WITH ALLISON TRANSMISSION
1. At a ¼ throttle get up into 5th gear. Once you are in 5th gear, apply light pressure to the brake pedal until the truck
is stopped.
2. At a ½ throttle get up into 5th gear. Once you are in 5th gear, apply light pressure to the brake pedal until the truck
is stopped.
3. At ¾ throttle get up into 5th gear. Once you are in 5th gear, apply light pressure to the brake pedal until the truck
is stopped.
4. At full throttle get up into 5th gear. Once you are in 5th gear, apply light pressure to the brake pedal until the truck
is stopped.
5. Go through the same process with the Tow Haul button on.
FORD 6.0L POWER STROKE AUTOMATIC TORQUE SHIFT TRANSMISSION
1. Come to a complete stop and put the downloader on its highest setting.
2. Moderately accelerate to 55 mph.
3. Allow the vehicle to shift into overdrive and while in overdrive, maintain a speed of 55 mph for 15 seconds.
4. Lightly apply the brake just enough to engage the brake lights, hold brake lights on while maintaining
55 mph for another 15 seconds.
5. Come to a complete stop for 20 seconds.
6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 ve additional times.
7. Drive normally and enjoy.
