Operation
Diagnostic Message (for all control Systems)
Message Meaning Action Required
No message on display. Power has been 
cut off to the spa.
The control panel will be disabled until power returns. Spa settings are preserved 
until the next power-up.
Overheat - The spa has shut down. One 
of the sensors has detected that the spa 
water is 118°F (47.8°C) at the heater.
DO NOT ENTER THE WATER. Remove the spa cover and allow water to cool. Once the 
heater has cooled, reset by pushing any button. If spa does not reset, shut off the 
power to the spa and contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
Overheat - The spa has shut down. One 
of the sensors has detected that the spa 
water is 110°F (43.3°C).
DO NOT ENTER THE WATER. Remove the spa cover and allow water to cool. At 107°F 
(41.7°C), the spa should automatically reset. If spa does not reset, shut off the power 
to the spa and contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
Ice – Potential freeze conditions 
detected.
No action is required. The pumps will automatically activate regardless of spa 
status.
Spa has shutdown.  The sensor plugged into sensor “A” jack is not working. The error may appear 
temporarily in an overheat situation and disappear once the heater cools. If the 
problem persists, contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
Spa has shutdown. The sensor plugged into sensor “B” jack is not working. The error may appear 
temporarily in an overheat situation and disappear once the heater cools. If the 
problem persists, contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
Spa has shutdown. Sensors are out of balance. If this is alternating with the temperature, it may just be 
temporary. If the problem persists, contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
A difference between the temperature 
sensors was detected. 
This could indicate a ow problem. Check water level in spa. Rell if necessary. If the 
water level is acceptable, make sure the pumps have been primed. If the problem 
persists, contact your authorized Bullfrog Spa dealer.
Heater is shut down, but other spa 
functions run normally (displays on the

th
 occurrence of the HFL message 
within a 24-hour period).
Persistent low ow problems. Follow the instructions for the HFL message. Heating 
capacity of the spa will not reset automatically. Press any button to reset.
Inadequate water detected in heater. Check water level in spa. Rell if necessary. If the water level is okay, make sure the 
pumps have been primed. Press any button to reset.
Spa is shut down (displays on the 3
rd
occurrence of the dr message).
Inadequate water detected in the heater. Follow the actions listed for the dr 
message. The spa will not reset automatically. Press any button to reset.
When your spa is rst actuated, it will go 
into Priming mode.
The Priming mode will last for up to 4 minutes and then the spa will begin to heat 
and maintain the water temperature in the Standard mode.
Temperature not yet known. This is normal within the rst few minutes of the spa power up.

Internal problem detected. Repair required. Contact your authorized dealer or service organization.
