Activating Windows
To continue using the Windows features, you must activate Windows on your system.
Make sure that you have already activated Windows. If not, follow the procedure
below to activate.
For a server running a full installation
1. Go to the Start menu, and in the Run dialog box, type slui, and click OK.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Note:
■ Windows may have been factory-activated. In this case, stop
the process when prompted to do so.
■ The Product Key can be found on the Certificate of Authen-
ticity (COA) label.
For a server running a Server Core installation
1. At a command prompt, type Slmgr –dli, and click OK.
Note:
■ Windows may have been factory-activated. In this case, stop
the process when prompted to do so.
■ The Product Key can be found on the Certificate of Authen-
ticity (COA) label.
2. Type slmgr –ipk <PID>, and click OK.
*PID is your product key on the COA label.
