Meaning
0x00A8 Initialization before passing control to the adapter ROM at E000h com-
pleted.
Pass control to the adapter ROM at E000h.
Next, checkpoint 0x00A9.
0x00A9 Return control from ROM.
If ROM found, enable E000 shadow and copy ROM to shadow. Next,
checkpoint 0x00AA.
0x00AA Clear screen and display system configuration if no OEM logo.
Enable/disable USB according to CMOS setting.
Enable/disable Num Lock according to CMOS setting.
Initialize extended keyboard.
Check for unattended start in CMOS. If yes, load hot key password into
KBC and lock keyboard and mouse. If no, continue. If BIOS display, then
display “Wait” message.

Set reset type to hard reset in BIOS data area.
Copy BBS data in DIM segment to code segment.
Clear from 0:500 to top of available real memory.
Invalidate PMM.
Release of memory used by IA32 and return to IA64.
