6. Escala PL400T and PL600T Memory
The Escala PL400T and PL600T system memory is organized in 2 memory boards of 16 positions.
Each memory board can house 8 pairs of Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) DIMMs. The first board
must be full before adding a second memory board.
The PL400T and PL600T support the following memory:
•
256 MB (2x128 MB) DIMM SDRAM (CMMG144)
•
512 MB (2x256 MB) DIMM SDRAM (CMMG145)
•
1 GB (2x512 MB) DIMM SDRAM II (CMMG172)
•
2 GB (2x1 GB) DIMM SDRAM II (CMMG173)
SDRAM II DIMMs reduce power consumption and heat dissipation.
The minimum memory capacity is 512 MB.
The maximum memory capacity is 32 GB (2 memory cards providing 32x1 GB DIMMs).
6.1. 1-way CPU Board System Memory
The 1-way CPU board incorporates eight memory DIMM positions for installation of system memory.
Memory can be installed on the 1-way CPU board
or
on a 16 memory DIMM positions option board.
Memory DIMMs on the 1-way processor card must be installed in pairs. Memory DIMMs on the 16-
position memory board must be installed in quads. All DIMMs in each pair or quad must be the same
capacity.
If system memory is installed on the 1-way CPU board, the 16 memory DIMM positions option board
cannot be used and therefore the available memory can range from 256 MB to 8 GB.
If the 1-way CPU board is used with no memory installed, a maximum of one 16 memory DIMM
positions option board can be installed and therefore the available memory can range from 512 MB to
16 GB.
