The following are prerequisites for the Windows NT SAN Manager agent:
•
Express 5800 with associated kits for connection to CLARiiON DAS or Symmetrix
•
Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5 at least,
•
Windows NT TCP/IP services,
•
Java Runtime Environment version 1.2.2 (provided on the AIX SAN Manager CDROM),
•
Emulex SCSI port driver delivered within Express 5800 connection kits for DAS products or for
EMC products depending on the type of disk subsystem to be connected.
Use of other Windows NT platforms has to be submitted as an SFR.
7.2.4. Licensing
The central server is the only priced component. The pricing policy depends on the number of
managed AIX and Windows NT servers (i.e. the number of local host agents used). There is no
limitation on the number of users and GUI deployed.
When multiple central servers are installed, each one must have its own license, which defines the
number of local host agents that it is allowed to manage. This number of local host agents can not be
shared with other central servers.
7.2.5. Memory Usage
AIX WebSM GUI application: ~ 15MB
AIX Central server: ~ 12 MB
