Performance in these configurations is dictated by a number of factors, including host CPU utilization,
SCSI bus traffic, individual disk usage, write cache option.
The basic configuration
includes a single ESCALA host interfaced to the DAS through a standard
MCA-to-Differential/SCSI-2 host adapter or a Fiber Channel adapter (DAS3500 only). In this
configuration, a single Storage-Control Processor (SP) is used to access up to 10 (DAS1300), 20
(DAS2900) or 30 (DAS3200/DAS3500) drives in the array chassis. A second array can be daisy
chained to the first (up to 534GB: 30x17.8GB for the 3000 Series). The cache memory is available as
an option.
