•
Up to 224 LUNs with LUN partitioning enabled (require Navisphere Supervisor or Navisphere
Manager)
•
Up to 32 LUNs without LUN partitioning
•
Dynamic RAID volume expansion (with LUN partitioning feature)
•
2 global hot spares, with rebuild priority adjustment (configurable threshold for the minimum
number of IO reserved for server use during rebuild). The capacity of a hot spare disk must be at
least as great as the capacity of the largest disk module that it might replace.
2.1.5.8. Performance figures
4500 5700
IO/s (2 SPs, 2 KB blocks) 30000 22000
Bandwidth M/s (2 SPs) 175 120
These values are measured from SP cache to servers. They represent the processing power of the SP,
and the maximum performances that could be obtained with optimal configuration. In real
configurations, performance is lower, and depends mainly on the number of disks: less disks means
low throughput and low read/write I/O rates.
2.1.5.9. Technical specifications
Interface to host
•
Each SP provides a Fibre Channel interface at 100 MB/s. A built-in hub enables two host
connections per SP, sharing the 100 MB/s.
•
4500: SC connector, Short Wave Length laser for multimode fibers
•
5700: 9-pin, DB9 shielded connector, compatible with copper/optical Media Interface Adapters
(MIA).
Dimensions (approximate)
DPE Deskside (20 disks: DPE + DAE):
•
Height - 26.8 in. (68.0 cm)
•
Width - 20.6 in. (52.2 cm)
•
Depth - 29.4 in. (74.7 cm)
•
Weight - DAE-only: 316lb. (144 kg) max. DPE-based with 2 SPSs: 364 lb. (165 kg) max
Power requirements
•
