1. Atthecircuitbreakerorfusepanel,disconnectthepowerforallofthecircuitsinthedevice
j
unctionbox.
2. DoubleCheckthatthepower isOFFtothedeviceboxbeforecontinuingbytryingtoturnonthecontrolledloadusing
thewallswitch.
3. UnscrewthecoverofthejunctionboxwheretheBudderflyPowerPackwillbeinstalled,andremovetheexistingpower
pack(incaseyouarereplacinganexistingPowerPack).
4. FollowtheWiringinformationprovidedbelowtoconnectthewiresasfollows:
o ConnecttheLOADwire(usuallyBlack)thatgoestothelighttotheLOADwireofBudderflyPowerPack(Red).
o ConnecttheLINEwire (usuallyBlack)that comesfromtheelectrical servicepaneltotheHOTwire ofBudderfly
PowerPack(Black).
o ConnecttheNEUTRALwire(usuallyWhite)totheNeutralwireofBudderflyPowerPack(White).
o Inorderto testthe BudderflyPowerPack, with no occupancysensorsconnected,connect the 24VDC(Red)low‐
voltage output to the CONTROL wire of the Budderfly Power Pack (Blue). The lights should turn ON. Disconnect
thewires,andthelightsshouldturnOFFafter15seconds.
o ConnectthePOWERINPUTwireoftheoccupancysensor(usuallyRed)toeitherthe12VDC(Yellow)orthe24VDC
(Red) low‐voltage output of the Budderfly Power Pack; in correspondence with the ratings of the installed
occupancysensor.
o In case one of the low‐voltage wires is not used (12VDC or 24VDC wire), make sure that the copper (of the
unconnectedwire)isnotexposedbycoveringitwithascrewnut.
o Connect the COMMON wire (usually Black) of the occupancy sensor to the COMMON wire of the Budderfly
PowerPack(Black)
o ConnecttheOccupancyState(Control)wireoftheoccupancysensor(usuallyWhite/Grey)tothe CONTROLwire
oftheBudderflyPowerPack(Blue)
5. Afteryouhaveconnectedallofthewires,ensurethatallofthewireconnectorsarefirmlyattachedandthatthereisno
exposedcopper.
6. MounttheBudderflyPowerPacktotheknockoutholeinsidethejunctionbox,andreinstallthecover.
7. EnablepowertotheBudderflyPowerPackfromthecircuitbreakerorfusepanel.
8. AfterthePowerLEDcomeson,youcantesttheBudderflyPowerPackifitisworkingproperlywiththesensor,bymaking
interrupted movements in the area covered by the sensor; the lights should turn and stay ON (as long as there is a
movementdetectedinthearea)andturnOFF(after15secondswithoutanydetectinganymovement).

WiringInformation
• Important:Budderflydevicesareratedforandintendedtoonlybeused
withcopperwire.
• Usewiregaugesasmentionedinthetableabove.
• Remove3/4"(1.9cm)ofinsulationfromeachwire.
• Connectasfollows:Twiststrandsofeachendtightlytogether.Holdbare
ends of wires together and push firmly into wire Nut. Screw Nut
clockwise making sure that no bare conductor shows below the
connector.
