5.4  Controlling the detector
The detector can be controlled in two ways:
• in local control mode using the keypad and the graphical display of the instrument itself or 
• in remote control via the RS232 interface using the software SepacoreControl.
The SepacoreControl offers full support for the detector and the detector can be controlled in a very 
convenient way. Furthermore the use of the scan functionality over the full detection range of the 
instrument is only provided by the SepacoreControl software.
The instrument can be switched from local control to remote control and vice versa at any time. In 
remote or subscription mode the keypad of the instrument will be locked, signalized by a small key or 
a small “s” in the graphical display of the instrument.
The menu structure of the instrument can be taken from the following schema:

All parameters of the detector can be adapted in a corresponding submenu. The menu can be 
entered by pressing the MENU button from any main screen. Pressing MENU again will switch to the 
next parameter screen. Using the buttons LEFT and RIGHT it is possible to navigate through all sub
