ENGINEER’S SPECIFICATION GUIDE — CEILING-SUSPENDED FAN COIL UNITS (Model 619C)

GENERAL: Furnish and install indoor, under-ceiling mounted,

direct expansion fan coil unit to be used without ductwork. Unit

shall consist of centrifugal blower type fan, fan motor, cooling

coil, piping connectors, electrical controls, solid-state electro-

mechanical control system, and ceiling mounting brackets. Unit

shall be capable of being used in a refrigerant circuit with a

matching air-cooled outdoor condensing unit.

Nominal unit electrical characteristics shall be

Unit shall be capable of providing a constant volume of air at a

speciﬁed external static pressure within the unit nominal oper-

ating range.

CABINET: Cabinet shall be zinc-coated bonderized steel ﬁn-

ished with a baked enamel paint. Inlet grilles shall be attractively

styled, high-impact polystyrene. Matching mounting brackets

shall be provided.

FAN SECTION: Fan shall be centrifugal blower type with air in-

take in the bottom rear of the unit and discharge in the front. Au-

tomatic, motor-driven, vertical air sweep shall be provided

standard.

COIL SECTION: Coil shall be copper tube with aluminum ﬁns

and galvanized steel tube sheets. Fins shall be bonded to

the tubes by mechanical expansion. A drip pan under the coil

shall have a drain connection for attachment of piping to remove

condensate.

CONTROLS: Controls shall consist of a solid-state electrome-

chanical control system which shall provide the following func-

tions as a minimum: automatic restart, non-programmable

thermostat, ﬁlter status indicator, automatic airsweep control,

fan-only operation, user-selectable fan speed control, and com-

pressor restart time delay.

APPROVALS: Unit shall be rated (when matched with a 538A

condensing unit) per ARI Standards 210/240 and shall be listed

in the ARI directory as a matched system. Units shall be UL and

CSA listed.

ACCESSORIES: Automatic start-stop timer, internal conden-

sate pump, fresh air intake kit, indoor guard kit, electronic pro-

grammable thermostat, and power ventilation kit.
