SpecialPrecautionsandRecommendations:
1.ArmstrongandBruceLaminateFlooringmaybeinstalledinresidentialfullbathroomsfollowingthe
guidelinesoutlinedintheBathroomInstallationSectionI.
2.ArmstrongandBruceLaminateFlooringarenotrecommendedovermostcarpetsorinhighhumidity
areaswherethefloorisnormallywete.g.,steamroomsorsaunas.
3.Levelfloorswithasuitablecementbasedselflevelingunderlaymentfollowingthemanufacturer’s
recommendedguidelines.
4.Radiantheatedsubfloorsshouldnotexceed85°F(29°C).
5.ArmstrongandBruceLaminateFlooringcannotbeinstalledovercarpetunlessthecarpetisa
maximum1/4"(6.35mm)thick,fullyadheredoverasuspendedwoodsubstrate.
Note:Forallinstallationswhereenvironmentalconditionscannotbecontrolled,wheretherelativehumidity
levelisbelow35%orexceeds55%atthetimeofinstallationorwheretherelativehumiditycannotbe
maintainedbetween35%and55%consistentlyaftertheproducthasbeeninstalled,a3/32”beadofgluemust
beappliedtotheendgrooveofeachplank.
Duetoslightdifferencesinthemanufacturingprocess,differentendingcodescannotbeinstalledtogether
!CAUTIONWOODDUST
Sawing,sandingormachiningwoodproductscanproducewooddust.Airbornewooddustcancause
respiratory,eyeandskinirritation.TheInternationalAgencyforResearchonCancer(IARC)has
classifiedwooddustasanasalcarcinogeninhumans.
Alwaysfollowthemanufacturer’srecommendedsafetyinstructionsandpracticeswhenusingpower
tools.
PrecautionaryMeasuresifPowerToolsAreUsed:
Thepowertoolsmustbeequippedwithadustcollector.Ifhighdustlevelsareencountered,usethe
appropriateNIOSHdesignateddustmask.Avoiddustcontactwitheyesandskin.
FirstAidMeasuresinCaseofIrritation:
Flusheyesandskinwithwaterforatleast15minutes.Seekmedicalattentionifirritationpersists.
IMPORTANTHEALTHNOTICEFORMINNESOTARESIDENTSONLY:
Thesebuildingmaterialsemitformaldehyde.Eye,nose,andthroatirritation,headache,nauseaandavariety
ofasthmalikesymptoms,includingshortnessofbreath,havebeenreportedasaresultofformaldehyde
exposure.Elderlypersonsandyoungchildren,aswellasanyonewithahistoryofasthma,allergies,orlung
problems,maybeatgreaterrisk.Researchiscontinuingonthepossiblelongtermeffectsofexposureto
formaldehyde.
Reducedventilationmayallowformaldehydeandothercontaminantstoaccumulateintheindoorair.High
indoortemperaturesandhumidityraiseformaldehydelevels.Whenahomeistobelocatedinareassubjectto
extremesummertemperatures,anairconditioningsystemcanbeusedtocontrolindoortemperaturelevels.
Othermeansofcontrolledmechanicalventilationcanbeusedtoreducelevelsofformaldehydeandother
indooraircontaminants.
