DO NOT TAMPER WITH THE ASSEMBLY SCREW ON THE REAR OF THE

MAGAZINE. DOING SO WILL RENDER THE MAGAZINE INOPERATIVE.

WHEN LOADING YOUR RIFLE ALWAYS KEEP THE MUZZLE POINTED

IN A SAFE DIRECTION, ALWAYS PLACE THE “SAFETY” IN THE ON SAFE

POSITION AND KEEP YOUR FINGERS AWAY FROM THE TRIGGER.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS

INJURY OR DEATH.

DO NOT CARRY YOUR RIFLE WITH A CARTRIDGE IN THE CHAMBER TO

AVOID ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE. WHEN FIRING IS NO LONGER IMMINENT,

MAKE SURE THE “SAFETY” IS IN THE ON SAFE POSITION AND UNLOAD

THE CHAMBER. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD RESULT

IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

There are two methods used to load a cartridge into the chamber

of the X-Bolt rifle: Loading through the ejection port and loading

from the magazine.

LOADING THE MAGAZINE

1 Eject the magazine from the

rifle by pulling the magazine

release, located on the forward

edge of the magazine, rearward

with your index finger. The

magazine will drop into your

hand (Figure 7).

2 Place the rim of a cartridge on

the front of the follower and

press down on the follower with

the rim of the cartridge while

simultaneously sliding the
