Press inward on the rear end of the bolt stop and carefully draw the
bolt to the rear and out of the receiver.
WHEN REMOVING THE BOLT FROM THE RECEIVER, TAKE CARE TO PREVENT
THE COCKING INDICATOR FROM STRIKING AND DAMAGING THE COMB OF
THE STOCK.
AMMUNITION
DISCHARGING FIREARMS IN POORLY VENTILATED AREAS, CLEANING
FIREARMS OR HANDLING AMMUNITION MAY RESULT IN EXPOSURE TO
LEAD AND OTHER SUBSTANCES KNOWN TO CAUSE BIRTH DEFECTS,
REPRODUCTIVE HARM AND OTHER SERIOUS PHYSICAL INJURY. HAVE
ADEQUATE VENTILATION AT ALL TIMES. WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY
AFTER EXPOSURE.
DO NOT USE AMMUNITION OTHER THAN WHAT IS INSCRIBED ON THE
RIGHT SIDE OF THE BARREL. EXAMINE EVERY CARTRIDGE YOU PUT IN
YOUR FIREARM.
The barrel and action of this rifle have been made with substantial
safety margins over the pressures developed by established American
loads. However, we assume no responsibility for incidents which
occur through the use of cartridges of nonstandard dimension or
those developing pressures in excess of SAAMI (Sporting Arms and
Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute) established standards.
MAGAZINE CAPACITY
The Browning X-Bolt utilizes a unique detachable rotary magazine.
The magazine capacity of standard calibers is four rounds. On
magnum calibers and WSM rifles the capacity is three rounds.
Remember, “total” rifle capacity includes an additional round which
can be loaded into the chamber in addition to a full magazine.
