2. The gas piston, sleeve bar and return
spring will remain in place and do not
need to be removed, except for cleaning.
If the forearm assembly parts have been
removed, reinstall them as explained be-
low. Otherwise, proceed to step 6.
3. Insert the return spring into the round
hole in the end of the sleeve portion of
the sleeve bar assembly — the end
which has the action bar protruding —
not in the ten sided, decadon-shaped
end (See Figure 3). It is important to
note that the diameter of the spring is
different on each end. The large end is
inserted into the sleeve. The smaller di-
ameter end goes toward the end of the
action bar.
