A general overview of document creation is shown below.

A Switch command mode (ESC i a)

1. Select landscape orientation (ESC i L)
2. Initialize (ESC @)
3. Specify print area
Specify page format (ESC ( c)
Left and right margins (ESC l and ESC Q)
4. Specify line feed amount (ESC 0, ESC 2, ESC 3, and ESC A)
5. Specify tabs
Specify horizontal tab position (ESC D)
Specify vertical tab position (ESC B)
C Print operations
1. Specify print position
Specify vertical position (ESC ( v, ESC (V, VT, and ESC J)
Specify horizontal position (ESC $, ESC \, HT, and ESC a)
2. Transfer print data (1 line)
Transfer necessary text operation codes (Refer to D.) and bit images, bar
codes and downloaded data (Refer to E.).
3. End of line and feed paper (CR and LF)
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 listed above.
5. End of page (FF)
For a page feed, specify the position where the bottom margin is exceeded
when the vertical position is specified (not with FF).
6. Printer waits and checks for ”End of Print” status. A status request is not
required.
7. Repeat steps 1 through 6 listed above.
8. End of document.
Changing the document orientation will
automatically clear the text and print
buffers. Make sure you do this before
entering any text.
