Fax Detect 5
If FaxDetect is On: 5
The machine can receive a fax automatically,
even if you answer the call. When you see
Receiving on the LCD or hear a click on the
phone line through the handset you are
using, just replace the handset. Your
machine will do the rest.
If Fax Detect is Semi: 5
The machine will only receive a fax call
automatically if you answered it using the
machine’s handset.
If you answered at an extension or external
telephone, press l51 (l91 for New Zealand).

If Fax Detect is Off: 5
If you are at the machine and answer a fax
call by lifting the machin’s handset, press
Start to receive.
If you answered at an extension telephone
press l51 (l91 for New Zealand). (See
Operation from external or extension
telephones uu page 39.)
Note
• If this feature is set to On, but your
machine does not connect a fax call when
you lift an extension telephone handset,
press the fax receive code l51 (l91 for
New Zealand).
• If you send faxes from a computer on the
same telephone line and the machine
intercepts them, set Fax Detect to Off.
• We do not recommend having a PC plus
fax machine on the same line.
a Make sure you are in FAX mode .
b Press Menu, 2, 1, 3.
c Press a or b to choose On, Semi or Off.
Press OK.
d Press Stop/Exit.
