3 - 5 SETUP SEND
Automatic transmission
This is the easiest way to send a fax.

If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax).

Load your document.

Dial the fax number you want to call. (See How to dial on page
3-1.)

Press Black Start or Color Start.
Manual transmission
Manual transmission lets you hear the dialing, ringing and
fax-receiving tones while sending a fax.

If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax).

Load your document.

Pick up the handset of the machine and listen for a dial tone.
—OR—
Press
Speaker Phone and listen for a dial tone.

Dial the fax number you want to call.

When you hear the fax tone, press Black Start or Color Start.

If you picked up the handset replace it.
Do not pick up the handset or press Speaker Phone to listen
for a dial tone.
You cannot send multiple pages from the scanner glass.
