6 - 5 REMOTE FAX OPTIONS
Remote Retrieval
You can call your MFC from any touch tone telephone or fax
machine, then use the Remote Access Code and remote commands
to retrieve fax messages.
Using your Remote Access Code

Dial your fax number from a telephone or another fax machine
using touch tone.

When your MFC answers, immediately enter your Remote
Access Code (3 digits followed by ).

The MFC signals if it has received fax messages:
1 long beep
—
Fax messages
No beeps
—
No messages

The MFC gives two short beeps to tell you to enter a command.
The MFC will hang up if you wait longer than 30 seconds to
enter a command. The MFC will beep three times, if you enter
an invalid command.

to reset the MFC when you’ve finished.

Hang up.
If your MFC is set to
Manual
mode and you want to use the
remote retrieval features, you can access your MFC by waiting
about 2 minutes after it starts ringing, and then entering the
Remote Access Code within 30 seconds.
