Colour Scanner
One of the few machines in its class to offer
a colour scan facility with the addition of a
simple-to-use ‘Scan to’ function.
Press the ‘Scan to’ key and you have the choice
of scanning directly to OCR, e-mail, image or
file, which not only gives you precisely the right
format for you to use the scan whichever way
you want to, but could also save you all the time
and bother of what could otherwise be a
complex operation.
The quality of your scans are on a par with
anything you could expect from a stand-alone
unit, with a resolution of up to 9600 x 9600dpi
(interpolated).
Besides these three fully-featured functions,
this machine also offers simultaneous operation
which means that you can start scanning while
a print-out is being generated, a true time
saving benefit.
You also have a large, five line back-lit display
to make operation simple – especially with the
clear instructions it shows.

Laser Printing
With print speeds of up to 20 pages per
minute, the performance of this laser printer
is impressive.
A resolution of up to 2400 x 600dpi also
assures you of a consistently crisp and clear
print quality. Coping with the print demands
of the office is no problem, thanks to the
generous 32MB of standard memory. Should
these demands increase, memory is
expandable up to 160MB.
PCL™6 and BR-Script 3 (PostScript 3
language) emulations are installed and the
choice of parallel, USB 2.0 and optional
network means connectivity isn’t a problem.
With Secure Print for Windows™ also
installed, all your confidential documents will
stay that way.

Thanks to our NC-9100h Network Interface, connecting your machine
to a network couldn’t be simpler. This connectivity comes as standard
with the DCP-8045DN and is available as an option with both the
DCP-8040 and DCP-8045D.
The NC-9100h is specifically designed to make implementation into
the majority of networks effortless, as it supports industry standard
speed (10/100Base TX) and protocols (TCP/IP/IPX/SPX/AppleTalk).

Network Management
To ensure that your network truly works means that you need to be
able to manage it easily and effectively and we are happy to play our
part in making your life easier. As such, we’ve made available a
number of tools to help you proactively manage your network-
connected printers and DCP’s.
We’ve also embedded a Web Server. This means that, regardless of
your web browser, you can easily manage your Brother machine.
Making day-to-day management easy, we’ve included e-mail
notification that will alert you, your administrators or other users when
a consumable is running low or when an error has occurred.
To make our network management offering complete, we provide our
BRAdmin Professional Software for administering LAN connected
printers and DCP’s. An Enterprise edition of this software for
administering WAN connected printers and DCP’s can be downloaded
from the web-site shown below.

Laser Copying
The performance as a desktop copier is
consistently impressive. The flatbed design
accomodates full size A4 and legal originals
and the 50 sheet automatic document
feeder means you don’t have to stand over
the machine changing page after page of
your original. There is a standard paper
capacity of 250 A4 sheets, which can be
expanded up to 500 sheets with the
addition of the optional lower cassette tray
(LT-5000).
Up to 99 copies can be produced at one
time and stack and sort functions mean
there’s no longer the need to rearrange or
hand-collate documents after copying. To
complete its impressive performance, the 2
in 1 and 4 in 1 scale function and poster
print options enable you to maximise
copying versatility.
