CHAPTER 7 SOFTWARE SERVICE SUPPORT

Preparation tool
1) PC (Windows

2000) Create the folder “ZL2” in C drive.
2) 1 HL-5030/5040/5050/5070N printer
Uninstall the current HL-5XXX driver in your PC.
3) 1 USB cable or parallel cable
4) FILEDG32.EXE, WAITSEC.EXE and FLW_MAIN.CMD
Download ”FILEDG32.EXE”, “WAITSEC.EXE” and “FLW_MAIN.CMD” from Utility DB,
then copy them to “ZL2” folder in C drive. (PrUt030003, PrUt030005)
5) FW5030.BAT/FW5040.BAT/FW5050.BAT/FW5070N.BAT/FW50NET.BAT *1
Please download the batch file which you need from the Utility DB, and copy it to the "ZL2"
folder in C drive. (PrUt030005)
6) PIT3SPFX.EXE ; Set up by country
Create the folder “PIT3” in C drive. Download “PIT3SPFX.EXE” from Utility DB, then copy
it to “PIT3” folder in C drive. Extract the EXE file. (PrUt030006)
7) pit3drv.exe
Download “pit3drv.exe” from Utility DB, then copy it to “PIT3” folder in C drive. Extract the
EXE file. (PrUt030006)
Double click “setup.bat” in order to install the HL-5XXX printer drivers to the PC.
*HL-5030: Printer Driver (USB)
*HL-5040, HL-5050, HL-5070N: Printer Driver (Parallel)
8) Firmware : LZXXXX_$.AVA (Main firmware) or LZXXXX_$.BLF (Network firmware) *2

Download and extract the firmware from ROM/Firmware DB, then copy it to folder “ZL2” in C
drive.
