CFM Commands
ethernet cfm delay-measure enable
This command enables periodic transmission of delay-measure messages. Use the no form to
disable transmission.
Syntax
ethernet cfm delay-measure enable {one-way | two-way} md domain-name ma ma-name
mpid source-mpid
no ethernet cfm delay-measure enable md domain-name ma ma-name mpid mpid
domain-name – Domain name. (Range: 1-43 alphanumeric characters)
ma-name – Maintenance association name. (Range: 1-43 alphanumeric characters,
maximum length is 44 minus the length of the domain name)
source-mpid – The identifier of a source MEP that will send delay-measure messages.
(Range: 1-8191)
Default Setting
None
Command Mode
Global Configuration
Command Usage
• A MEP cannot transmit periodic delay-measure and on-demand delay-measure messages at
the same time.
• A MEP cannot transmit one-way and two-way delay-measure messages at the same time.
• If the switch does not synchronize time from an NTP/SNTP server, one-way delay-measure
messages cannot be transmitted. In other words, the clocks at both the source and target MEP
should be synchronized in order to perform one-way frame delay measurements.
• A periodic delay-measure message attributes group must be bound to the source MEP using
the ethernet cfm delay-measure binding command.
• Results of periodic delay measure testing will be recorded in the system log after completion of
each full cycle as defined in the ethernet cfm delay-measure group attributes command.
• For more information on how one-way and two- way delay measurements are calculated, see
the on-demand ethernet cfm delay-measure one-way command and ethernet cfm
delay-measure two-way command.
Example
This example enables periodic delay-measure message transmission for the specified source MEP.
Console(config)#ethernet cfm delay-measure enable one-way md voip ma rd mpid 1
Console(config)#
