The Brocade VDX 8770-8 can have up to eight power supplies. Be sure to check each module.

AC OK No light (LED is off) Power supply does not
have incoming AC power.
If using AC power, ensure
that the power supply is
firmly seated, the AC
power source is live, and
the power cable is
connected.
Steady green Power supply has
incoming AC power.

DC OK No light (LED is off) The DC output is not in the
acceptable range.
Ensure that the power
supply is firmly seated.
Steady green The DC output is in the
acceptable range.
No action required.
ALM No light (LED is off) The power supply has not
failed.
No action required.
Steady amber The power supply has
failed.
Replace the power supply.
Verifying the power supply status
You can check the power supply status by entering the show environment power command. Use the
following table to interpret the command output. You can also use the show system command.

Output Explanation
OK Power supply is functioning correctly.
absent Power supply is not present. Could also be improperly seated.
unknown Unknown power supply unit installed.
predicting failure Power supply is present but predicting failure.
faulty Power supply is present but faulty (no power cable, power switch turned off, fuse blown, or
other internal error). Could also be improperly seated.
For absent or faulty indications, if the power supply is not improperly seated, contact yor Brocade
supplier to order replacement parts. You may also want to do this if the indication is predicting failure.
